Thursday we headed down to the Zoo. As soon as I told the kids G&G were coming, they started talking about the Zoo. Apparently these two things are connected in their little brains. I tried to talk to D about maybe doing something we haven't done before. His idea? "Have G&G ever rode the Zoo Train?" Me: "I don't think so." D:"So that would be new!"
Here we are on our way to the Zoo. G&G drove the whole time they were here. The kids love to ride in "Grandma's Big Blue Blazer"!
Tigers are Grandma's favorite animals at the zoo. They put on a good display of napping but at least we could see them!
And here are the kids on the infamous Zoo Train. I don't know why Roy looks so grumpy here. Maybe because we didn't pack a lunch so he had to buy lunch at the zoo.... That's against Pyatt priciples! Amiright Macey?
Really we all had a good time at the zoo. We are glad Roy took the day off to come with us. And once all the kids on field trips left it was actually a really great day to be at the zoo!
Friday we took G&G down to the same park on the river we went to last week. Good fun times.
On the way to the park, D crashed on his bike and skinned his knee up. He didn't feel like going in the water after that. I was just proud of him for getting back on his bike and riding the rest of the way without crying. He's getting so big and tough.
Since he wasn't playing in the water he drew this picture in the sand. It is a heart that says, "I love you." He drew it for me. Aww...
G&G were able to stay through Saturday so they got to see D's t-ball game. It is so funny watching those little guys play ball out there. I'm really proud of D and the skills he's learning. He may not be the most athletic player on the team but he gives it his best and has fun. That's important.
We were all sad to see G&G go on Sunday. Well, actually, we were all sad to wake up and have G&G gone since they snuck out before we were up! K wanted to call and have them come back to give her a "big, huge hug".
