Jump Start

Before Jump Start

Our district has this great program called "Jump Start" for kindergartners.  They can go to school for 2 hours in the morning for 10 days before the school year actually starts.  It was a great way for D to get acclimated to school and the routine of leaving mom without the rest of the school being there.  We signed K up for it.  She started today.  Her friend Em from preschool is in her class.  Those two are like two crazy peas in a pod.  I wish they would be in the same kindergarten class but Em is doing the Spanish program and K is just doing regular kindergarten.
K's teacher is Mrs. M.  She is made to be a teacher.  My friend Heather calls her Sleeping Beauty because she looks like she could play the Disney princess at Disneyland.  K really likes her.  I'm happy K has this opportunity to feel happy and successful at school before school even starts!
