Today, we went on a field trip with K's preschool group. We had talked about going to a pumpkin patch but decided to go to this great little farm stand for a mini-pumpkin patch experience. It turned out to be a great time. The Red Barn has a large front lawn that was covered in pumpkins layed out in a maze for the kids to run around in. They have a few animals: piglets, a couple of big pigs, two goats and some chickens.
K really liked watching the chickens scratch around.
The man who was working at the farm stand was AMAZING with the kids. He brought them each a small pumpkin, gave them granola bars and honey sticks and played with them. One of the kids knocked his hat off and they ran around the maze chasing and laughing. He talked to them and they all loved him. K kept wanting to show him how she could climb on the huge pumpkin they had. I always appreciate great people who make my kids feel special.

That is sweet. What a cute old man. May just be worth a trip every year.
