Mommy's taking us to the zoo...

The kids have a CD with this song,
"Daddy's taking us to the zoo tomorrow, zoo tomorrow, zoo tomorrow
Daddy's taking us to the zoo tomorrow.  We can stay all day.
We're going to the zoo, zoo, zoo.  How about you, you, you?
You can come too, too, too.  We're going to the zoo, zoo, zoo."
It is a very catchy tune.  Sort of like Lambchop singing The Song That Never Ends.  I start singing it in my head nearly everytime I hear the word zoo.
All this is a long way of introducing the fact that I took the girls to the zoo.  We got a Groupon deal that we split with a friend.  It got us all into the zoo for $23.  That is a really GREAT deal in case you haven't been to a zoo or any other family entertainment place for the last 50 years.

Today happened to be one of two fair weather days for the next 6-8 months so off we went.  Before we left Roy asked K what animals she wanted to see.  There was the regular list: lions, tigers, elephants, giraffes.  At the end of the list, K added Bats.  She decided those were her favorite animal of the day and we had to see the bats.  Disguisting little flying rats but that's just my opinion.
The Groupon came with 4 popcorns and 4 sodas.  The girls polished their popcorns off.  In fact it seemed like everytime I turned around they were eating or asking to be fed.  Good thing I packed a few snacks.

A was so cute.  She wanted to see everything.  She was loving it all.  There is something amazing about watching a little face discover new things.  She walked much of the time and was totally fried by the time we left.
A growled when we saw the lions.  LOVE IT!!
K got a huge kick out of petting the goats.
She kept getting down on their level and talking to them; asking about their house and what they were going to do.
We managed to see almost all the animals before the kids started pooping out.  It was fine though because I had to be back to run carpool for D and my friend had to get her son from the school bus.

Good news!  After a brief youtube search I have located the zoo song for anyone not familiar with it.  Or for anyone who clicked on the Lambchop link and would like a diversion song.
