Roy and I have been seeking for adult friends. Okay, me more than Roy but that's to be expected since he goes out with business people regularly and I eat PBJ with preschoolers. We arranged with a youngish (like us) couple in the ward to go out on a double date. So fun. Except that I accidentally paid our bills before we were supposed to go out so I found out we didn't have any money to pay a babysitter and go out.
When I was young I used to look forward to Mexican Dinners with the Campbells. At the time I didn't realize it was probably more because our parents wanted to get together than because they knew their kids would like it. Now I know better.
I called our friends and invited them for a Mexican dinner. The plan was to have dinner and play games while the kids played and watched movies downstairs. We actually had dinner and talked until it was too late to play games and our kids were bouncing off the wall from exhaustion downstairs.
It was a lot of fun. I think it is good to expose the next generation to these timeless traditions.
